Exporting results

In DoordaOnline, you can export the results of your queries and dashboards for use in other applications or for sharing purposes. This guide outlines the steps to export data from both individual questions and entire dashboards.

Exporting Results of a Question

To export the results of a specific question:

1. Locate the Question: Navigate to the desired question within DoordaOnline.

2. Access the Download Option: Click on the Download button located in the lower-right corner of the question panel.
   

3. Choose the File Format: Select your preferred file format from the available options:

   • CSV

   • XLSX

   • JSON

   • PNG (for chart visualizations)

4. Select Formatting Options:

   • Formatted: Exports data with any formatting applied within DoordaOnline.

   • Unformatted: Exports raw data without DoordaOnline-specific formatting.

   • Note: If you don't see the download option, you may not have the necessary permissions to export results.

Exporting Pivot Tables

When exporting a pivot table, you have the option to keep the table pivoted. By default, DoordaOnline exports the unpivoted results.

Export Limits

DoordaOnline allows you to export up to 1 million rows at a time. You can run as many extract as required.

Cell Character Limit in Excel Exports: When exporting to an Excel (.xlsx) file, each cell is limited to 32,767 characters, in accordance with Excel's constraints.

Exporting Data via a Public Link

You can create public links that allow others to download data in a specific format, including raw, unformatted question results.

Exporting Question Data via Alerts

DoordaOnline enables data export through alerts. You can set up alerts to receive data exports when certain conditions are met.

Exporting Results of a Dashboard

To export data from a dashboard:

1. Export Dashboard as PDF:

   • Click on the Sharing button.

   • Select Export as PDF.
     

   • Note: The PDF will include screenshots of the charts as they appear on the dashboard.

2. Exporting Results of a Dashboard Card:

   • Hover over the specific dashboard card.

   • Click on the three-dot menu (...).

   • Select Download results.

   • Available file formats include CSV, XLSX, JSON, and PNG (for charts).

   Note: To export raw, unformatted results, hold down the Option key (Mac) or Alt key (Windows) while selecting the file format. If the download option is not visible, you may lack the necessary permissions.

3. Exporting Results via Dashboard Subscriptions:

   • Use dashboard subscriptions to regularly export data from all questions on a dashboard.

   • Configure subscriptions to include results as attachments in emails or other notification channels.
